Probably the most westernised country in South America. Chile is a very sociable and friendly place. Toby and Sarena made Santiago there base for a month and concentrated mainly on this area. As preparation for their continued journeys through Latin America they even signed themselves up for 2 weeks of spanish lessons...

Toby and Sarena signed themselves up for 2 weeks of spanish lessons on there arrival to Santiago. Hopefully this will make them better prepared for the more remote parts of Latin America. read diary

...The Driest Desert in the World
For a bit of a break apart from Sarena, Toby shipped himself to the north of Chile and the Atacama desert. Camping in San Pedro he spent 3 full days doing various tours of the area. Including; flamingos, salt lakes, Andean villages, Geysers, massive dunes. read diary
