Being tagged as one of the most remote islands on earth is not just the only reason to visit Easter Island (or Rapa Nui or Isla de Pascua). Littered with massive stone figures this amazing place is an open air museum and has a very mysterious feel to it. Initially 10 days seemed like it would be more than enough time but we just didn't want to leave this chilean outpost.

...Trekking the entire island
Finding a break in the weather was our first task. But a the first sign we where packed up and headed out on a 3 day hike around the entire island of Easter Island. Ever inch of this place is a photo opportunity but we restricted ourselves to just a couple of hundred snaps. read diary

...Motorcrossing volcano's
Not content with walking the perimeter of the island we also spent a day touring the interior on a couple of 250cc Motorcross bikes. This involved attacking slippery slopes strewn with volcanic boulders to reach 2 of the summits of the 3 volcano's that make up the island. It was worth every tumble! read diary
