What a fantastic place. If you like the taste and smell of mutton that is! The people are so friendly and just the notion that no one owns the land in Mongolia makes you feel amazingly free. Seeing the stars in the middle of a crisp Steppes night was just spectacular.

...Camping on the steppes in a Ger tent
When in Mongolia do as the Mongolians do! and why not they may not have learnt the art of brick and mortar building but they sure make cool caravans. Toby and Sarena spent 2 nights camped out on the Mongolian grasslands of the steppes in a traditional Mongolian Ger tent and experienced a small snapshot of this ancient lifestyle. read diary

 

...Chuffing through the Gobi Desert
With a good ole Diesel Engine strapped on we re-boarded the Trans-Mongolian train and headed south through the Gobi desert to china. This time though we were fortunate to share a warmer carriage compartment with more friendly companions. read diary
