Taken as a small side trip from Argentina, Uruguay surprised us with its beautiful old towns, Endless countryside, Lack of people and complete lack of fellow travelers. A side trip well worth taking...

...Colonial Colonia
After over a year and a half in the new world. It was very refreshing to discover this old portuguese settlement in Colonia. It had a distinctly Mediterranean feel to it. One of the prettiest towns Toby and Sarena have discovered so far. read diary

 

 

...Seal Colony
Toby and Sarena have come across Seal Colonies before. But none in such a dubious place as Cabo Polonia. A well known holiday destination for junkies this remote spot can only be accessed by foot or huge sand taxi. The place still houses a Seal abattoir (although not used today) and ghost like sea side shacks.read diary
